Fort Sill On-Post Amenities: Commissary, Post Exchange, and What's on Post (2026)

By Travis Wright, REALTOR®, with eXp Realty ·

Fort Sill is a fully self-contained installation, so nearly every daily errand can be handled without leaving post. The commissary, Post Exchange, gas stations, fitness centers, library, and movie theater are all within a short drive of the main housing areas, and Lawton sits right next to the installation for anything it does not carry. This guide walks through the on-post amenities you will actually use. For the big-picture view of the area, start with our Fort Sill community guide.

Where Is the Fort Sill Commissary?

The Fort Sill Commissary is located at 1719 Macomb Road on post, with typical hours of 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Saturday, and 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday. The store includes a deli, a fresh bakery, a bulk Value Mart section, and CLICK2GO online ordering for pickup, and a pharmacy pickup point sits nearby. Commissary access is limited to authorized DOD ID card holders and eligible dependents, so bring your military ID when you shop. You can check the Defense Commissary Agency website for the current schedule. Groceries on post generally track with the discounted prices the commissary system is known for, which helps offset some of the everyday costs covered in our Fort Sill BAH and housing guide.

What Is at the Fort Sill Post Exchange (PX)?

The main shopping hub is the Fort Sill Exchange Mall, Building 1718 at Macomb and Craig Roads, open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The Exchange system on Fort Sill also includes the Artillery Bowl PX at Building 2861, a smaller Exchange at the hospital, and two shoppettes for quick convenience items. You can browse what is in stock and check department hours at the Army & Air Force Exchange Service website. Between the PX and the commissary, most day-to-day shopping needs are covered on post, which is convenient for anyone who would rather avoid the drive into town.

Where Can You Get Gas on Fort Sill?

Fort Sill has two Express/Gas stations. The one on Sheridan Road (Building 3985) is open 24 hours and carries regular, premium, and diesel fuel along with a propane exchange and air pump. The station on Fort Sill Boulevard (Building 4117) is open Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM and weekends from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Fuel is also available at the Exchange, and off-post stations along Sheridan Road and Cache Road in Lawton are minutes from the main gates.

Which Fort Sill Gates Are Open and When?

Access hours vary by gate, so it pays to know your options before your first commute. The Bentley Gate on NW Sheridan Road is open 24/7, and the Key Gate West off I-44 is typically open around the clock as well. The Scott Gate is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Gate 6 on 52nd Street runs on weekdays only, and the Apache Gate is open weekdays from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Hours change periodically, so check the MyArmyPost app or the Directorate of Emergency Services at (580) 442-3217 before relying on a specific gate. Visitors planning to drive on post should review our hotels and temporary lodging near Fort Sill guide, since most hotels sit right outside the gates.

What Fitness, Library, and Recreation Options Are On Post?

For staying active, Fort Sill offers the Randolph Fitness Center, the Fires Fitness Center with an Olympic-size indoor pool and on-site childcare, and a newer multi-million-dollar gym that includes a rock-climbing wall. The Nye Library provides books, movies, games, computers, Wi-Fi, and printing, and the Sheridan Theater screens current movies on post. Recreation extends to an 18-hole golf course, the Twin Oaks Bowling Center, Scott Pool, the Patriot Club, and the Lake Elmer Thomas Recreation Area (LETRA), which has a beach and waterslide. For the full rundown of family and morale, welfare, and recreation programs, see our Fort Sill family support and MWR guide and the Fort Sill MWR website.

What Else Is On Post for Families?

Beyond retail and recreation, Fort Sill houses child development centers and the School Age Center, the Reynolds Army Health Clinic, dining facilities, chapels, and support offices such as Army Community Service. Newly assigned families typically start at the in-processing and ACS offices, which is why the Lawton-Fort Sill military resources page is a good first stop for PCS checklists and family support contacts. Between the on-post amenities and the full retail scene of Lawton just outside the gates, everything you need for daily life is within a short drive of Fort Sill.
