Pumpkin Patches and Fall Farms Near Lawton Oklahoma (2026 Guide)

By Travis Wright, REALTOR®, with eXp Realty ·

Pick pumpkins near Lawton at Heritage Farm & Ranch, Snider Family Exotics in Fletcher, and Bigfoot Ranch in Apache. Drive times and what each 2026 fall farm offers. Within about 30 minutes of downtown Lawton you can pick pumpkins at a working Comanche County farm, visit an exotic animal park in Fletcher, or work your way through a full-size corn maze in Apache. Here is where to go this October, what each farm offers, and how far you will drive.

Where Is the Closest Pumpkin Patch to Lawton?

Closest to home is Heritage Farm & Ranch at 26432 State Highway 58 in Lawton, a family-run Angus beef and produce farm set between Medicine Park and the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. In October the farm opens its fall harvest market and pumpkin patch with pumpkins, gourds, and fresh seasonal produce, including tomatoes, okra, green beans, squash, cucumbers, peppers, onions, and potatoes. You will also find canned goods plus breads, bagels, and other baked goods made from family recipes.

The setting is part of the appeal: the farm sits in open country with wide views of the Wichita Mountains while you pick. Because it is on the same side of town as the refuge, it makes a natural stop on the way to a hike or a scenic drive.

Where Can I Pick Pumpkins and See Animals Near Lawton?

About 24 minutes north of Lawton on US-277, Snider Family Exotics in Fletcher runs a pumpkin patch through October alongside its exotic animal park. You can pick pumpkins and feed the animals on weekends, which makes it a two-in-one fall outing that kids tend to remember. It is also a good excuse to see Fletcher itself, a small Comanche County town with its own school district and a compact main street.

Where Is the Best Corn Maze Near Lawton?

If you want the full agritourism experience, Bigfoot Ranch Pumpkin Patch at 16731 NW Madische Road in Apache is about a 30-minute drive from Lawton. It opens in late September and runs weekends through the fall with a corn maze, hayrides, pick-your-own pumpkins, a bounce pad, and a petting farm. Apache sits off I-44 northeast of Lawton, so the drive is an easy one and the farm makes a solid half-day trip on its own.

What Other Pumpkin Patches Are Within an Hour of Lawton?

Two more patches round out the region. Saville's Market opens a pumpkin patch near Snyder, about 44 minutes northwest of Lawton on US-62, and Sweet Pickins in Altus, about 57 minutes west, opens in early October with weekend hours. Both are good options if you are already heading that direction for a day trip.

How Do I Plan a Smooth Pumpkin Patch Visit?

  • Check hours before you go. Most patches run weekends only and post current hours on their Facebook pages or websites.
  • Plan for payment. Ask ahead whether the farm takes cards; smaller markets are sometimes cash only.
  • Dress for the field. October weather in Southwest Oklahoma can swing from warm afternoons to cool mornings, and farm paths can be dusty or muddy after rain.
  • Go early. Mornings are quieter, and the light is better for photos.
  • Pair it with other plans. A patch near Medicine Park or the refuge makes a full day, and our guide to family-friendly activities in Lawton has more ideas for the season.
